42 Bar and Table makes Osso Bucco


Gilbert Alaquinez Jr. of the new 42 Bar and Table inside of the Clinton Presidential Center was on Good Afternoon Arkansas Tuesday making Osso Bucco.

42 Bar and Table has reopened for dinner service Thursday – Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. Lunch hours remain the same, 11-2 Monday-Saturday. The restaurant has also been remodeled.


•1 tablespoon olive oil

•4 (650g) beef or veal shanks (osso bucco)

•2 large carrots, peeled, roughly chopped

•2 yellow onions, roughly diced

•3 stalks Celery, roughly diced

•1-12oz can chopped tomatoes

•2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves

•1-12oz can cannellini beans, drained, rinsed

•1Ž2 cup Beef Stock

Step 1

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add shanks. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes each side or until browned. Add carrot, celery, onions, tomato and 1/2 cup beef stock. Cover. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender.

Step 2

Add thyme and beans. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through. Serve.
