Greek chicken gyros

8 chicken breast or thighs, boneless and skinless

8 pita breads


1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 tablespoon Greek yogurt

Mix all ingredients together, add chicken, cover and marinate for 2-24 hours.

Tzatziki Sauce:

2 cucumbers, seeded and squeeze out any excess juice

1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon vinegar, use what you did for the marinade

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon minced garlic

salt and pepper

Mix all ingredients together for the Tzatziki Sauce and set aside for a while to let the flavors come together (at least 30 minutes)


lettuce, tomato slices and red onion slices

1. In a hot skillet heat 1 tablespoon oil and cook your chicken till done, about 3 or 4 minutes per side (you can cook them on a grill also).

2. Slice the chicken and put inside your warm pita bread, top with the Tzatziki Sauce, lettuce, tomato's and onions.
