Alec Baldwin advises Donald Trump of his presidential duties in Twitter tirade
Alec Baldwin furiously responded to Donald Trump's criticism of his "Saturday Night Live" appearance by outlining his priorities as U.S. president-elect.
The actor, 58, took on the role of the billionaire turned politician on the comedy sketch show in the run-up to November's presidential vote and returned to play him on Saturday's show in a skit which showed Trump, 70, being unprepared for the presidency.
On Sunday Trump took to Twitter to slam the show, writing, "I watched parts of @nbcsnl Saturday Night Live last night. It is a totally one-sided, biased show - nothing funny at all. Equal time for us?"
Baldwin took exception to the President-elect's demand for positive coverage, launching a scathing online attack on America's leader-to-be in a series of Tweets.
The "Glengarry Glen Ross" star wrote, "Equal time? Election is over. There is no more equal time. Now u try 2 b Pres (ident) + (and) ppl (people) respond. That's pretty much it."
He then went on to outline what he felt should be the new president's priorities, adding, "You know what I would do if I were Prez (President)? I'd be focused on how to improve the lives of AS MANY AMERICANS AS POSSIBLE.
"I'd be focused on improving our reputation abroad, including actually fighting for freedom and not just oil. I would make every effort 2 (to) retrain Americans so 2 cre8 (create) jobs. 1 (One) way u make America gr8 (great) again is 2 put it back 2 work. I would make appointments that encouraged people, not generate fear and doubt."
He concluded his rant by telling the former host of The Apprentice TV show that should he want any more advice, he'd be available, writing, "I could go on. You want more advice, call me. I'll be at SNL."
Falling foul of Baldwin wasn't the only showbiz spat the President-elect was involved in over the weekend.
Trump demanded an apology from the cast of the Broadway musical Hamilton after they addressed his Vice President-elect Mike Pence on the fear many Americans have of a Trump presidency when he attended a performance of the hit show on Friday.
