Jimmy Kimmel's baby son undergoes second successful heart surgery
Jimmy Kimmel's seven-month-old son Billy underwent a second successful heart surgery on Monday.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! late-night talk show host and his wife Molly McNearney welcomed their second child in April, but little Billy required surgery for a rare congenital heart defect at three days old.
He required two more operations following the initial surgery and one of those procedures took place on Monday.
"Jimmy’s son Billy had a scheduled and successful heart surgery this morning," ABC announced in a statement.
While Kimmel is off work with his family this week, his talk show will be presented by guest hosts. Chris Pratt took the reins on Monday night, while Tracee Ellis Ross, Neil Patrick Harris and Melissa McCarthy will host the rest of the week's shows.
Kimmel also shares three-year-old daughter Jane with Molly, as well as daughter Katherine and son Kevin with his ex-wife Gina Maddy.
