1 suspect in Jonesboro shooting in custody, another still on the loose

Jonesboro police say a suspect wanted in a shooting that killed one and injured six others is now in police custody.

According to Channel 7's sister station, KAIT, Chauncey Jovon Thomas, 19, turned himself into authorities after police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Authorities continue to search for the second suspect, 20-year-old Kallius Jaciel Lane. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Both were wanted for first-degree murder and six counts of first-degree battery after 18-year-old Monterio Barnes was found fatally shot on South Main St. in Jonesboro early Sunday morning.

Police tell KAIT six others were also injured, including Stefan Hawthorne, 18, Carey Bell, 21, Steven Brimlett, 38, Asia Smith, 25, Devontae Fowler, 19 and Cordarius Jackson, 18.
