Woman killed, man injured in drive-by shooting in Little Rock
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Little Rock police say a woman was killed and a man injured when shots were fired at their vehicle near the 2600 block of Izard St.
Just after midnight Tuesday, police responded to the scene for a call of shots fired and found a 1997 Nissan Maxima with several bullet holes in it that also had its window shot out.
Inside the vehicle, police discovered 34-year-old Tartinisha Rainey with multiple gunshot wounds, 41-year-old James Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound, and another subject who was inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
Detectives interviewed Jackson and the uninjured person. Both of them said suspects in a grey vehicle started shooting at their car, striking it several times until it came to a stop at 26th and Izard.
Rainey of North Little Rock later died from her injuries. Jackson, also of North Little Rock, is currently in serious but stable condition.
Authorities say there is no additional suspect information as they continue their investigation.
