Little Rock Police are investigating after responding to a 'shots fired' call early Thursday morning.

Officials say they were called out to the 4200 block of Ludwig Street just after 12:00 a.m.

Witnesses told officers they heard gunshots, a female screaming, and a car take off northbound on Ludwig Street.

Police said they were unable to locate a crime scene, however, they were advised that a shooting victim, 27-year-old Dominic Rice, was at UAMS and had come from that area.

Rice told police he was walking out of the residence one minute and the next he heard gunshots.

Officials then spoke with Rice's girlfriend, 34-year-old Laura Scales, who was present at the time of the incident.

Scales told police Rice and her brother, Drapper Montgomery, got into an argument and then Montgomery left.

Scales said she and Rice were leaving the house when Montgomery began shooting at Rice. Scales and Rice got into her vehicle and Montgomery continued firing shots as they were leaving.

No information about Rice's current conditions was released.
