Arkansas Department of Correction captures inmate who escaped from Texarkana facility

UPDATE (11:09 a.m. 7/4/17) -- The Arkansas Department of Correction says an inmate who escaped from the Texarkana Regional Correction Center is back behind bars.

The department sent out an alert at 11:09 a.m. saying inmate Joshua Bean had been apprehended and returned to custody.

The Arkansas Department of Correction is searching for an escaped inmate after he walked away from a Texarkana work site on Monday.

Authorities say officers with the Texarkana Regional Correctional Center were notified around 10:45 p.m. that Joshua Bean walked away from his assigned work release job site at M&M Miling located on 33 Globe Avenue.

Bean is serving a 15-year sentence out of Garland County for residential burglary and theft of property.

Officers say his last known address was in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Anyone with information about Bean's location is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency immediately.
