Breanne Davis wins Arkansas GOP Senate runoff
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Breanne Davis defeated Bob Bailey on Tuesday in a runoff election to see who'll be the Republican party's candidate in special Arkansas Senate election.
Davis won with 4,264 votes, or more than 55 percent of the ballots cast, according to unofficial results. Bailey received 3,451 votes.
Slightly more than 16 percent of the 47,443 voters registered in Senate District 16 turned out for the runoff election.
Davis will face Democrat Teresa Gallegos in the general election to fill the Senate seat, which was formerly held by Greg Standridge, a Republican from Russellville. Standridge died in November.
