Warning: Deceptive door knocking in Little Rock
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
ADT Security Services is warning residents in Little Rock about a new door knocking scam.
ADT says they have been getting multiple reports from customers about deceptive door knockers who are attempting to make them sign a new contract with higher rates and longer terms.
In order to help prevent residents from being scammed, ADT is partnering with the Better Business Bureau to reach a national audience.
“Consumers should feel safe wherever they are,” said Mary E. Power, president and CEO of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. “When a con takes advantage of people, literally at their front door, it poses a significant challenge."
According to BBB, thousands complained about dishonest or misleading sale pitches in 2016 alone.
