The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) is preparing for the next round of rain in the state.

In the past 24 hours, 28 out of 75 Arkansas counties have reported flooding. On Thursday afternoon, the department reported that they expect that number to grow.

Dan Noble with ADEM says the department is concerned about the entire state but their main area of concern within the next 24 hours is northeast and eastern Arkansas.

In the meantime, ADEM tells KATV they are prepared to provide resources to counties that experience heavy flooding.

"We will do anything from give them sand bags to give them cots and open a shelter, anything they need and we will pull our resources to make sure they have what they need,” said Noble.
