The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office arrested a man after they say he tried to meet up with an underage girl for sex.

James Lindsey Short, 44, of Little Rock, was arrested August 7 at approximately 10:45 p.m. near Greenbrier.

The sheriff's office said investigators began communicating with Short on or about August 6 after locating a suspicious online ad.

Authorities arrested him Monday after he arrived at a predetermined location to allegedly meet an underage female for sexual intercourse. When he was arrested, he was found in possession of a cellular device and a backpack filled with clothing, toiletries, and a tube of personal lubricant.

Short has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit rape. He was released on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court August 29.
