Homicide suspected after body found on side of the road in West Little Rock

UPDATE (4:24 p.m. 8/2/17) --

Little Rock police are investigating the capital city's 38th homicide after a woman's body was found lying on the side of Shackleford Rd.

Authorities found the body of a Tina Moody of Little Rock in the 5800 block of Shackleford Rd. at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Detectives interviewed a witness who said he was driving down the road when he saw Moody's body and called police. It appears the she was left at the location by suspects.

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy, where it was ruled that the death is a homicide.

The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Police say there is no suspect information.

Little Rock police are investigating after a body was found on the side of the road in West Little Rock early Wednesday morning.

The body was discovered around 6:15 a.m. near South Shackleford Road and Stagecoach Road.

Police closed traffic between Stagecoach Road and Colonel Glenn to investigate.

Police say a driver reportedly called police after seeing something on the side of the road.

Lt. Steve McClanahan with the Little Rock Police Department said they are calling this incident a death investigation.

According to police, the victim is a white female.

The body has been taken to the State Crime Lab for identification and cause of death.
