Little Rock police make arrest in social media threat to school
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (KATV)- Little Rock police told the Little Rock School District that they have made an arrest in a social media threat made regarding Hall High School on Wednesday.
The police department says Josue Rodriguez-Valenzuela, 18, was arrested Friday for terroristic threatening.
"We are appreciative to the LRPD for the thorough investigation that led to a prompt resolution in this case, " said LRSD Superintendent Mike Poore. "Their work, alongside our LRSD Safety and Security teams, helps ensure that our campuses remain safe with environments that are conducive to learning. This is a demonstration of our strong commitment to promptly investigate all threats when they arise, and to discipline the responsible person according to the student handbook and the law."
The school district reminds and encourages parents to talk with their students about the responsible use of social media and the potential consequences when social media is not used responsibly.
