Little Rock police: Man almost stabbed when following robbery suspect

An employee of a Little Rock store was nearly stabbed when he went to follow a suspect who allegedly stole from the store, a police report states.

Police were called to the Family Dollar on Main St. just before 5 p.m. Tuesday for an assault with a weapon.

The 21-year-old employee said he saw a suspect leave the store without paying for merchandise and followed him outside the building.

The employee claims the suspect pulled a knife and attempted to stab him but then fled eastbound on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male who stands at approximately 5'9" and weighs about 160 lbs.

He could face aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges in the case.
