Have you adopted a dog from an animal shelter and you're just not sure of its breed? There's an app for that.

In fact, it's an app created by a veterinarian right here in Little Rock.

Dr. Lauren Sheluterman says many of her clients would often ask her what type of dog they had, and that led her to create the "What's My Mutt" smartphone app to help answer that question.

But it's not just for people who already own dogs.

"We're really hoping that it'll be a tool for people that want to go adopt a dog, as far as rescue organizations, shelters, people that foster a lot of dogs," Dr. Sheluterman said. "Being able to classify the dog really helps to give potential adopters a good idea of what type of personality they're going to get and also maybe the size of the dog."

The "What's My Mutt?" app is available in the app store for iPhone and iPad for 99 cents. A portion of all download proceeds will be donated to a Little Rock rescue group.
