Man pleads guilty in fatal shooting of Sheridan teen, sentenced to life in prison

The man accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old Sheridan football player has plead guilty to first degree murder.

According to Grant County court documents, Rusty Draper, 46, has pled guilty to the fatal shooting of Austin Moody. Moody was shot in the head while in his driveway in Sheridan on January 2017 .

In the court documents, Draper admits that he lied to police the morning of January 19th. Draper initially told police he was at work that morning, however, in the document he admits he went to Jacob's Cemetery near the Moody residence where he began drinking. He then drove to the Moody residence and purposefully shot the victim with his revolver.

Draper has been sentenced to life in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
