No child maltreatment charges for Bauxite baseball coaches in hazing investigation

The Bauxite School District tells KATV that two baseball coaches who are on paid leave during an investigation involving hazing will not be recommended for child maltreatment charges by Arkansas State Police.

Coaches Michael Mattox and Steven Tew were placed on paid administrative leave from all duties in April pending the results of the investigation involving the baseball team.

A criminal investigation into the case continues.

The district says Tew has accepted a coaching position at Carlisle for next year.

The district tells us they expect Coach Mattox to return next school year.
