1 man dead after driving opposite direction on Interstate without headlights

Authorities say one person is dead after two vehicles collided on I-30 Westbound in Hempstead County late Monday night.

According to State Police, Kevin Taylor SR., 61, of Arkadelphia, was traveling Eastbound in the Westbound lanes of I-30 with his headlights off around 9:30 p.m. when he collided with the front of a second vehicle traveling westbound. Taylor's car stopped into the Westbound ditch, the second vehicle traveled into the median.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured at the time of the accident.

Arkansas State Police's crash report indicates the weather was foggy and the roads were wet at the time of the accident.
