Suspect arrested in connection with triple homicide in Hot Springs

Authorities say after processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses they identified the suspect as Nicholas Matthew Lewondowski, 34, of Hot Springs.

UPDATE (2:30 P.M.): Hot Springs police have released the arrest affidavit for a man accused on three counts of capital murder.

According to the affidavit, on Tuesday afternoon, police were called to Central Ave. to meet with an individual who possibly had information about a homicide.

When officers arrived, they made contact with a man who told them 34-year-old Nicholas Matthew Lewondowski, the suspect in the case, was visiting his residence at Golf Links on Monday with three other friends.

While at Golf Links, the man says Lewondowski and his friends reportedly got into an argument about someone in the group stealing property from another person in the group, the affidavit states.

The individual says Lewondowski became agitated with his friends and left with all three of them to go to another location.

According to the affidavit, Lewondowski returned to the man's residence the next day and told him he had killed the people he brought over and needed help.

The affidavit states the man went to the 200 block of Nevada St. to help Lewondowski move vehicles, and Lewondowski told him he would probably need assistance disposing bodies later, reportedly stating "they would probably just burn the residence down."

Officers then responded to the location on Nevada St., where they found the rear door of the residence open and the three deceased victims.
