Police identify victim injured in drive-by shooting in downtown Little Rock

UPDATE (11:15):

Police have identified the victim injured in the drive-by shooting Friday morning as 28-year-old Tyrone Hayes.

Authorities tell Channel 7 when they arrived on the scene, they found Hayes lying in front of Albert Pike with a gunshot wound in the right shoulder blade.

Hayes told police he was trying to buy drugs and the next thing he knew, he was shot.

The victim's aunt said she dropped Hayes off at the location where he then exited the vehicle and walked around the corner.

Police say Hayes' is expected to recover from his injuries.

LRPD says the shooting occurred in downtown Little Rock at 6th and Scott.

Authorities tell Channel 7 the victim is a black male. They believe he was flagged down by two white males in a gray truck. When the victim moved away, one of the men shot him in the back.

Police say the victim's injuries are non-life-threatening.
