Arkansas State Police are investigating after an officer involved shooting at a Walmart in Northwest Arkansas Tuesday night.

Huntsville police say Larry Harrelson, 42, who was wanted on felony warrants and a parole violation was spotted at the Walmart in town.

Due to his prior warrants, police requested the help of state police as well as the Madison County Sheriff's Office, and the Arkansas State Parole Board Special Response Team.

Officials say they tried to block Harrelson's vehicle but he escaped, ramming two police vehicles in the process. That's when officers said shots were fired.

An Arkansas State Trooper then spotted Harrelson and initiated a traffic stop but he sped away, leading to a short vehicle pursuit.

Authorities say the trooper was able to stop the vehicle without further incident.

Harrelson was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.

This is an ongoing investigation, we will update the story as more information becomes available.
