The Cross County Sheriff's Office is calling on the public for information after newborn twins were found dead in a purple suitcase in Wynne on February 16.

"If you know of anyone who was pregnant but aren't now and there is no child, please call at the below number," the sheriff's office posted on its Facebook page. The number to call is 870-238-5700 and all calls will remain confidential.

Authorities say red Polo pants with an elastic waistband, a purple Hi-Pak suitcase, and an orange bag that has "Tigers #3" on it were found at the scene.

The sheriff's office says there was a male baby and a female baby. According to the preliminary autopsy report, the babies were approximately 32 to 34 weeks along.

Anyone who recognizes the items or has information in the case is told to contact the sheriff's office.
