Significant damage from storms in western Arkansas

Significant damage has been reported in western Arkansas as severe weather moves through the state Friday.

Video from several social media users showed the tornado-warned storm moving through near Mountainburg.

In a tweet posted at 4:24 p.m., the National Weather Service in Little Rock says law enforcement reported debris near Mountainburg as the storm moved through the area.

According to KFSM, authorities are reporting 160 buildings damaged. They say it had at least three entrapments and four people were hospitalized. No fatalities have been reported at this time.

Emergency management officials say a pregnant woman went into labor in a storm shelter.

The Crawford County Department of Emergency Management says the Red Cross will set up shelter at Warrens Rec Room.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation said at 7:34 p.m. that U.S. Highway 71 is closed from State Highway 282 to Lake Fort Smith Rd. due to tornado damage in the area.
