Suspect turns himself in for Little Rock hit-and-run that left man hospitalized

Little Rock police say a suspect accused of running over a 19-year-old man has turned himself in to police.

On its Twitter page, the Little Rock Police Department posted Nathan Schneider was taken into custody for first-degree battery on Tuesday.

Schneider was wanted in connection with an incident that occurred on Dec. 26, when police were called to the 13000 block of Chenal Parkway for an assault with a deadly weapon.

According to a police report, a witness told detectives 19-year-old Justin Duft and 20-year-old Schneider got into a fight. During the fight, Schneider is accused of running over Duft and speeding away from the scene.

Duft’s father tells Channel 7 the 19-year-old is at Baptist Health on life support.

Authorities say after turning himself in, Schneider is being transported to the Pulaski County jail.
