Police: Finese 2Tymes awaits extradition to Arkansas for Forrest City warrants

UPDATE (07/02/2017 8:06)-- The Little Rock Police Department says Finese 2Tymes will spend Sunday night in the Jefferson County Jail in Alabama awaiting extradition to Little Rock, Arkansas.

According to officials, the Memphis-based rapper will be transported back to Arkansas for federal felony gun charges stemming from an incident in Forrest City. Police say since it is a federal matter he will be taken to Little Rock where he will be questioned by the FBI.

Patrons say Finese 2Tymes whose real name was Ricky Hampton was scheduled to perform in Birmingham on Saturday night but never got on stage. Hampton was taken into custody at 1 a.m.

Employees at the hotel Hampton was staying at say authorities performed a search warrant of Hampton's room and allowed him to gather his things before transporting him to Jefferson County Jail.

Police say while Hampton is in Little Rock he will be questioned as a person of interest in the mass shooting at Power Ultra Lounge.

UPDATE (07/02/2017 12:44 p.m.) -- Little Rock police say the Memphis-based rapper who performed at Little Rock's Power Ultra Lounge as gunfire rang out Saturday morning is being extradited back to Arkansas' capital city.

Police say Finese 2Tymes, whose real name is Ricky Hampton, will be extradited back to Little Rock to talk with the FBI about warrants out of Forrest City. Little Rock police say he is also a person of interest in the weekend shooting that left 28 injured and authorities would like to question him.

The Memphis-based rapper who performed at Little Rock's Power Ultra Lounge as gunfire rang out Saturday morning and injured dozens has been arrested in Alabama.

Cliff LaBarge of the U.S. Marshals Service Northern District of Alabama confirms to ABC that Ricky Hampton, better known as Finese 2Tymes, was arrested Sunday morning by the U.S. Marshals, along with the ATF and the FBI.

He was booked into the Jefferson County jail in Birmingham at 3:42 a.m. on a fugitive from justice warrant. The Little Rock Police Department says the warrant was out of Forest City. No arrests have been made in the mass shooting.

Along with Hampton, LaBarge says Kentrell Gwynn was also arrested.

According to Al.com, both of them will be held without bond pending extradition back to Arkansas.

The media outlet reports Hampton and Gwynn were taken into custody as they were headed back to the Birmingham club where the rapper was set to perform.

The ATF also found two handguns and an AK-47 in the Mercedes that Hampton was riding in and took those into possession.
