Babysitter sentenced to 15 years for infant's death from Benadryl overdose
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) —
A former babysitter was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the death of an 8-month-old after she gave him Benadryl.
The prosecutor says Lori Conley pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, child endangering, and tampering with evidence. She had been charged with murder in the death of Haddix Mulkey.
The baby boy died in May of 2016, after Conley gave him an adult dose of Benadryl. Reynoldsburg Police said Conley admitted giving him the medicine because Haddix was fussy and she wanted to calm him down.
Investigators said there were eight children under 6 years old in Conley's home the day of Haddix's death.
