Beyond the Game: Local wrestlers fight for Kaitlyn
MAUMELLE (KATV) —
A local professional wrestling group recently wrangled for more than a belt. Instead, they wrestled for a cause.
A portion of the proceeds from Central Wrestling of Arkansas' first "Wrestle Raise" event in Maumelle benefited Kaitlyn Ison. The 21-year-old Greenbrier native was diagnosed with leukemia in July 2016. She's currently undergoing her last bit of chemotherapy.
"It's really, really awesome, honestly," Ison said. "I'm really just blown away by all this. I don't even know what to say. Very dear to my heart that someone would take their time to do it what they're doing it for and it's just amazing. It's really awesome."
The event was a sellout. The group said they raised $2,750. That includes all of the concessions and net profit from ticket sales.
