Central Arkansas residents take top times in Little Rock Marathon
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
Two Central Arkansas natives are the fastest male and female, respectively, to finish the 2017 Little Rock Marathon.
The top male finisher is Adam Bradbury, a 31-year-old from Bryant. He finished the race in 2:45:43.63.
The top female finisher is Tia Stone, a repeat champion. The 38-year-old Searcy resident ran cross country at Harding. She works in professional development and teaching. Her time was 3:00:44.97.
Bradbury and Stone both had rain-soaked family members waiting for them at the finish line. The race began around 7:00 a.m.
"[I] just kept trying to stay on track with pace and I knew my family would be right here at the end so I just kept going," Stone said.
"I love this race so much. I have a lot of history with this one, just coming to watch with my husband and doing the half, then relay, and now the full. I just can't not do this race. I have to do it every year!"
The top hand-cyclist is Rick Weisbrod (2:26:36.65).
