Ouachita Baptist, Harding qualify for D-II football playoffs
The Ouachita Baptist football team received its second NCAA Division II Playoff appearance in team history Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (9-2) earned the No. 5 seed in Super Region Three and will travel to fourth-seeded Ferris State (9-1). Ouachita's strong finish to the season helped the team earn its first trip to the playoffs since 2014. The road game will serve as the first non-home playoff contest in team history.
Harding earned the No. 7 seed in Super Region Three and will travel to meet No. 2 seed Indianapolis Saturday. It will be Harding's second straight trip and fourth overall to the Division II Playoffs. The Bisons also reached the postseason in 2012 and 2014 and advanced to the national quarterfinals last season. The winner of the Harding-Indianapolis game will play the winner of No. 3 Ashland and No. 6 Northwest Missouri State Nov. 25.
Ashland and 2016 national champion Northwest Missouri State round out the regional as the second and sixth-seeded teams, respectively.
