Razorback running back Juan Day to transfer
FAYETTEVILLE (KATV) —
Arkansas Razorbacks running back Juan Day announced his plans Wednesday night to transfer from the school.
"Growing up it had always been a dream of mine to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks. I was fortunate enough to live out my dream by spending the past three years playing for the University of Arkansas," Day said in a Twitter post.
"I am just as proud to have graduated in three years with a bachelors degree. With two years of eligibility left and careful consideration and prayers with my family, I have made the decision to transfer from the University of Arkansas. I plan to further my education in a graduate studies program as well as continue my football career."
He thanked Bret Bielema, the academic staff and athletic training staff. He said he is "healthier than [he has] ever been."
The North Little Rock native battled two ACL injuries during his time in Fayetteville, playing in only one game.
"I am excited for what the future has in store for me," Day said.
Bielema wished him well and said he will help him explore other opportunities.
The Razorbacks will rely on sophomore running back Devwah Whaley and true freshmen Maleek Williams and Chase Hayden.
