Connect With Kimberly Rusley

Kimberly Rusley joined the KATV team as a General Assignment Reporter in September 2016, and is proud to be a part of Arkansas’ #1 station.

Kimberly was born and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana, and studied Mass Communication at LSU-Shreveport. Her career in television started in 2008. She worked as a Production Assistant, Assignments Editor, and Producer at KSLA News 12 in Shreveport. In 2012, she went in front of the camera, working as a Multi-Media Journalist/Reporter for KTAL in Shreveport.

Kimberly reported on stories that generated real results for her community. After doing an exclusive story about a small neighborhood in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, that fell victim to a company “reselling” water, parish officials developed a new plan for water accessibility. Kimberly broke the national story of Cartrell Brooks, a Louisiana man accused of intentionally exposing at least 13 sex partners to HIV/AIDS. She has also covered high profile stories such as the release of Angola death row inmate Glenn Ford and the investigation and ultimate firing of Shreveport Fire Chief Craig Mulford. Kimberly has interviewed notables like Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Fox, R&B singer Joe and Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine.

Kimberly also competed in pageants, primarily in the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Pageant, part of the Miss America Organization. In 2010, Kimberly earned a Non-Finalist Talent Award as a vocalist at the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Pageant. She captured the titles of Miss Black Louisiana 2008, Miss Spirit of the Red 2008, Miss Calcasieu Parish 2009 and Miss Bossier City 2010. Even though she’s not competing anymore, Kimberly loves judging and emceeing different pageants.

When she’s not working, Kimberly loves to eat, listen to music, travel, read, volunteer, and host different events. She can’t wait to be immersed in the different communities across the Natural State! If you see her out and about, please don’t hesitate to say hi! Do you have a story for Kimberly?
