We'll have a chance for a few scattered showers and storms again today. Some individual storms could produce very heavy rainfall due to ample moisture and slow storm motion. The chance for afternoon and evening storms will decrease this weekend and the temperatures will increase. An area of low pressure is forming in the Gulf of Mexico and could bring a few showers to far eastern Arkansas early next week, but most of the tropical moisture looks to remain east of us. The hottest air of the season so far arrives by the middle to end of next week with highs well into the 90s and heat index temperatures above 100°. We'll keep an eye on it!
