20-year-old Stuttgart shooting victim dies

UPDATE: Daniel Ruffin, 20, passed away Wednesday night.

STUTTGART (KATV) - Community members held a prayer vigil on Wednesday for Daniel Ruffin after he was shot in the chest on Tuesday night.

Ruffin was walking his dog in front of his home on South Maple Street just after 5 p.m. when he was shot.

Friends and neighbors consoled and encouraged Ruffin's family at the Wednesday vigil.

Ruffin's cousin, Karen Annis, said, "It's such a blessing to see everybody here. I know if he was here and could hear it that he would feel so blessed."

Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male suspect with first degree battery. He was taken to the Arkansas County Juvenile Detention Center.
