FONTAINE, Ark. (AP) - A child in Greene County has died after being shot in the head, according to authorities.

Greene County Sheriff Dan Langston told KAIT the 3-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the head around noon Saturday.

Langston said the boy was shot on a county road near Fontaine in southwestern Greene County.

Previously, authorities said they were searching for the shooter, but now say the person who shot the child is a family member.

Authorities are talking with the prosecutor to determine if charges will be filed.
