CONWAY (KATV) — Authorities investigating a shooting death in a Conway neighborhood arrested two people for drug charges at the home where the deceased man was found.

Faulkner County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Waterfront Cove in reference to a disturbance. The caller had said a white male was in her yard cursing, drinking beer, and hitting her house with a boat paddle.

A few minutes later, dispatch received another call saying the man had walked to a neighboring house and a gunshot was heard.

Deputies found the man, 40-year-old Charles Oakey, deceased on the front porch of the second residence.

Deputies arrested the homeowners, 47-year-old Brian Gay and 46-year-old Kaye Brown, for two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The shooting is under investigation. It is unknown at this time if the drug arrests and the shooting death are connected.
