CONWAY (Log Cabin Democrat) - Oak Street Bistro, in business in Conway for 17 years, closed doors for good on Friday, owner Pam Trent said Monday.

Trent said in a telephone interview she has no immediate future business plans, but will "take time off and get regenerated."

She said her health and competition in Conway's restaurant industry were factors in closing.

"It was a necessary closure," she said, adding that she wished to thank friends for supporting her business for so many years. "I will miss each and every one of them. It is with a sad heart that I closed the doors."

Oak Street Bistro opened at 713 Oak Street in 1996. The restaurant moved to its recent location at 800 4th Ave., just off of Oak Street nearer to Interstate 40, in 2010.
