UPDATE: Suspect, victim both identified in Pine Bluff plant fatal shooting

PINE BLUFF — A woman was killed Monday in a workplace shooting in Pine Bluff.

Investigators say 49-year-old Lillie Foots-Wilson shot Latange Long, 34, inside Central Moloney, Inc. Both Foots-Wilson and Long were long-term employees who worked on the floor together. It's unclear if they knew each other outside of work.

Long's family said they started hearing Latange was the victim through text messages from other Central Moloney employees. When they got to the scene, her brother broke through police lines and was temporarily put into handcuffs.

According to Long's future sister-in-law Jacqui Mateo, "He wanted answers and he wanted to know how someone could just walk in there and shoot his sister or even if they were there how could they have a weapon on them to kill her. It just hit him. He just lost his brother not too long ago."

All of the other workers, about 75 total, were sent home for the day with pay but only after they were called to the building for interviews with investigators. They will be notified when to return.

Company representatives spoke to the media around noon Monday. Vice President of Community Relations Chris Hart said, "One thing you are never prepared for is employee on employee violence. There is really no way to prevent that."

Each employee has a gate key and there is a sign on the gate saying firearms are not allowed inside.

The gun has been recovered and two cars have been taken as evidence.

"We didn't want to believe it, because no one knew anything for sure," said Mateo. "Great person. That's why it is so shocking, I mean, everybody loved her. She has two beautiful kids. Everybody loves her."

According to Central Moloney's website, the company supplies distribution transformers to utilities all over the world.
