This month, we are featuring four business you can hire with confidence and help ensure you don't get hooked.

Every year, the Arkansas Better Business Bureau hosts the Torch Awards.

It is a chance for the BBB to recognize Arkansas companies for doing things not only the right way but at a very high level.

"What these businesses have in common is the desire to put policies in place within their company to develop high trust with their customers, their vendors and with their employees," says Janet Robb with the Arkansas Better Business Bureau.

On Thursday at the Governor's Mansion, the BBB will recognize two northwest Arkansas companies: Explore Scientific out of Springdale and WhyteSpyder of Fayetteville. It will also honor El Dorado’s Murphy Oil and Menco Construction of Sherwood.

"We call our bad companies when they earn it,” says Robb. “But we also want to spotlight those good business practices of the companies that are really, really trying to do business better."

Winning businesses were either nominated or applied for consideration for a Torch Award.

Robb says two or three dozen of Arkansas' highest performing companies were ultimately considered for the awards.

There are about 3,200 businesses in Arkansas that are accredited by the Arkansas Better Business Bureau.
