'Pawject Runway' by CARE for Animals

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — On Thursday, October 6th, from 6 to 9 PM, amid the rustic-chic charm of the Sunset Lodge at Rusty Tractor Vineyards in Little Rock, canine and human models will take to the runway to show off some of the finest fashions Little Rock has to offer.

In addition to the catwalk show, Pawject Runway guests will enjoy delicious food, bold beverages, and a fabulous virtual auction. And, best of all, guests will meet the superstars of the show—CARE’s adoptable dogs—because rescue never goes out of style!

All proceeds will directly benefit CARE for Animals, a Little Rock based non-profit dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats facing euthanasia from local animal control facilities and to decreasing the number of homeless and abandoned animals through aggressive spay/neuter programs.

CARE Executive Director Alexandra Mounger said, "We at CARE help homeless animals in two ways."

"CARE rescues and rehomes as many as we can," Mounger said. "CARE works with volunteer fosters and the Paws in Prison program to house and train homeless animals. We get them up to date on their veterinary care, run them through various assessments, then help them find a loving home."

To help prevent more homeless animals in the future, CARE also assists with spay and neuter services at clinics across Arkansas through their Spay and Neuter voucher program, which can help qualified individuals get up to $50 off of those services.

There are ways for everyone to help. CARE is always looking for volunteers: caseworkers, fosters, transporters, dog showing handlers, pet food pantry workers, etc. Another way to make a big difference is to donate.
