Pine Bluff police said a man injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon later died from his injuries.

Department spokesman Lt. David DeFoor said officers were called about 12:24 p.m. to an apartment at 2920 S. Fir St., south of W. 28th Avenue. They found Lonnie Urqhart Jr., 37, bleeding heavily. He'd been shot multiple times.

DeFoor said Urqhart was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in serious condition. Police reported at 2:44 p.m. that Urqhart had died from his injuries.

A witness told investigators that Urqhart had been in a fight with Marquanthony Sullivan on Wednesday morning, according to a police report. The witness reportedly said that Sullivan, 26, later returned the apartment and shot Urqhart.

Sullivan was last seen fleeing the area in a white or gray Oldsmobile. Police said he's wanted on a charge of first-degree murder.

Sullivan is described as black, 5-feet-7 and 178 pounds.

No arrests had been made late Wednesday afternoon.
