HOT SPRINGS (KATV) — Two 14-year-old Lakeside High School students were found guilty of raping a fellow 16-year-old female student in the school's field house, according to a defense attorney for one of the teens.
"We respectfully disagree with the judge's decision and we are going to aggressively pursue all avenues of appeal to right this wrong," said Tony Walker, attorney for one of the 14 year-olds.
The guilty verdict came down Friday in juvenile court. A sentencing date has not be scheduled, but it's expected to be held next week.
The school immediately notified police of the incident, who then arrested the two on rape charges.
Back when Channel 7 first reported on this case, KATV did inquire about security cameras. We were told despite having the bid approved last summer, the Ram Field House was undergoing renovations up until December 2015, when they hosted their first home event at the field house. Cook said they've been waiting on the vendor, who eventually got back to them on February 24, and cameras will be installed soon.
