LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Two KATV Channel 7 News alums will receive some of the highest honors in broadcast media next month.
The Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on Tuesday announced that Mike Narisi and Bob Steel will be inducted into the Emmy Gold and Silver Circle.
Narisi, a former photographer for KATV, will be inducted into the Gold Circle in recognition of a broadcast television and photojournalism career that's lasted more than 50 years. Narisi has covered the presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, and his production company, Hailstone Creek Productions, has hosted live news programs including the Rachel Maddow Show and Geraldo. Nasiri also worked as a photographer at Little Rock TV stations KARK and KTHV, as well as Fort Smith station KFSM.
Bob Steel, who hosts Arkansas Fairways and Greens on the Arkansas Radio Network, will be inducted into the Silver Circle to honor his more than 25 years in media. Steel is a former news director at KATV and KARK. He has also worked as a sports anchor, executive producer and sales executive. He owns and operates Bob Steel Public Relations.
The induction ceremony will be held July 28 in Shreveport.
