Alexander police search for suspects after air conditioning units stolen from church
ALEXANDER, Ark. (KATV) —
The Alexander Police Department is asking for the public's help with identifying the suspects and the vehicle used to steal and damage air conditioning units from a church on Dec. 30, 2018.
According to the police, two suspects were caught on video trespassing at the Cornerstone Church of Nazarene.
Police say two units were stolen and two were left upright but damaged. Police also say two units were cut and tipped over during the incident.
Authorities describe one suspect as a white male with a thin beard or goatee and said he was wearing a brown and green ball cap with an unknown logo. He was wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, gray and white tennis shoes, and a dark blue coat and appears to carry a red Sawzall, say police.
The other suspect did not come into the view of the camera enough to get a description, says the police department.
The suspects' vehicle appears to be a mid-2000s red pickup with an in-bed style toolbox with an after market rear bumper with round reverse lights in the bumper.
Officials also say the vehicle has reflective road cones in the back.
The police say they plan to charge the suspect with property theft, first-degree criminal mischief, and a misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
Any tips on the incident may be messaged directly to the Alexander Police Department Facebook page or people with tips may call Detective Hill at (501) 455-2585.
