An Arkansas man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty Friday to charges connected to a 10-month-old's death, according to KATV content partner KAIT.

Benjamin Collier, 21, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case.

Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce says the 10-month-old was found dead in an apartment in Newport on Sept. 10, 2017. Authorities developed Collier as a suspect and he later confessed to the crime, according to Boyce.

The State Medical Examiner's Office indicated the child died "as the result of a closed head injury."
