Arkansas man wanted since 2016 in child-sex ring arrested in North Dakota
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) —
An Arkansas man wanted for 20 months in connection with a child-sex ring has been arrested, authorities announced Monday.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Cory Bryant Oxford, 26, of Van Buren, was arrested in Bismarck, N.D. He faces two counts of rape and transportation of a minor for prohibited sexual conduct.
Authorities said Oxford was part of a group of men who took three children to the home of Michael Ray Roe, 62, in Franklin County, Arkansas and sexually assaulted them, according to a report by KATV content partner KFSM Channel 5 News. Roe has since pleaded guilty in the case and been sentenced to 30 years in prison with an additional 20 years suspended.
Authorities believe Oxford fled northwest Arkansas in July 2016 after learning he was wanted for arrest.
Oxford was being held in the Burleigh County jail in North Dakota on Monday awaiting extradition to Arkansas.
