LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — The Arkansas National Guard announced Friday that they are going to help at an Arkansas Department of Health warehouse for 18 more days.
The extension comes at the request of the Arkansas Department of Health through the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management, authorities said. The extension will allow time to properly inventory, prepare, and distribute test kits and personal protective equipment.
Authorities said the guardsmen were initially called to duty on Jan. 3 to work at a warehouse in Pine Bluff. They were then transferred to the warehouse on South Shackelford in Little Rock.
The guardsmen will now be helping that warehouse until Feb. 18.
