The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will host a free concert-style community event on Friday.

ASO said the event will be celebrating Geoffrey Robson's birthday and his accomplishments as the new music director.

The event will be at The Rail Yard and is open to the public, said ASO.

ASO said the event will start at 5 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.

"My heart is full with love for this city, this organization, and all of my friends and colleagues without whom I would not be in this position," said Robson. "Thank you for this opportunity to celebrate together just before we kick off this historic season. I can’t wait to see everyone there."

There will also be food trucks, a cash bar, and community organizations booths at the event.

ASO said live entertainment will be from Arkansas artists, The Gravel Yard, Rodney Block, and Bonnie Montgomery.

The booth participants are, Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Arkansas Cinema Society, Ballet Arkansas, Central Arkansas Library System, William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum, Downtown Little Rock Partnership, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Museum of Discovery, and Saint Mark Baptist Church.
