The Cross County sheriff's office said Thursday that a woman had been arrested after the bodies of two twin babies were found in a suitcase last month.

The mother of the children, Keysheonna Reed, 24, of Wynne, was charged with two felony counts of abuse of a corpse.

The babies' bodies were found Feb. 16 in a purple suitcase in a ditch off County Road 602. Investigators later learned that the babies, a boy and a girl, had been born dead between 32 and 34 weeks into gestation, according to a news release.

The sheriff's office said an autopsy found no illegal substances in the babies' bodies.
