Arrest made in fatal shooting of North Little Rock man
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) —
An arrest has been made in the killing of a North Little Rock man late last month.
North Little Rock police say Afan E. Humphrey, 19, was taken into custody Wednesday and faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Wesley Everett, 19. Everett was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 2900 block of Pike Avenue on Dec. 29.
Humphrey is being held without bond in the Pulaski County Detention Center. He also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by certain persons, according to the jail roster. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Thursday morning, according to authorities.
Police say Everett's death marked the 16th homicide in North Little Rock in 2018.
